Our grandchildren stopped by this morning and sat on the bricks out in the backyard to have some pesto pasta, while ken sat on his rockwall in the cul de sac as he talked at a good distance to Les and baby Colin. Lucy teaches Yang style tai chi from her dining room as she provides remote lessons during our global pandemic. The instrucional video below runs for about 15 minutes, until we run into technical difficulty. Please check back as we continue to run our "everydaytaichi" attempt to stay connected thru our practice of tai chi, EVERYDAY in spite of our practice of social distancing during Hawaii's LOCKDOWN. P.S. Ken shot this video with 2 cameras
and took advantage of the 7AM lighting BEFORE sunrise. The video below is really "home grown" and deeply rooted mainly bc Lucy grew up in Kuliouou and often rode her bike down to Kuliouou Park to play. Now, she lives in a near by neighborhood. There is NO place like home! Something different to munch on with lots of stay at home time,
especially in front of the computer. It's time to rethink and be more resourceful. Our home grown lemons and kumquats can be used in multiple ways. After juicing the lemons, I scrub my sink and clean my disposal, then compost. But, maybe I should reassess and use them creatively. It's the little things in life that can go a long ways! Les brought our grandkids over at 715 tonite
and we all had a lot of catching up to do. Baby had the most to tell us and kept us all on our toes with his riddles! We found out that Sophia now can ride a bike without training wheels and Andrew loves his distance learning clsses. It seems like they'll come visit like this again since we all felt so happy to be with each other in spite of distance we held strict to. When there is a will, there is a way! After cooking fish for dinner,
ken worked on his car battery since he couldn't get his Prius to start. Thanks to social connections within a few minutes of notifying him, Victor delivered a portable battery charger that did the job! Lesson learned: when in a fix, friends will help you out! We are "ordered" these days to only go out of our house if it's essential. Today, Ken decided to break his 7 day lockdown. ( He is one day ahead of me.) He deemed it was ESSENTIAL to pick up fresh caught fish from his buddy in Hawaii Kai. Was someone telling him something when his Prius wouldn't start? Picking up the fish that was sitting on his friend's driveway was of utmost importance. Lucy's Leaf came to his rescue, it had more than enuf charge. In the picture above, good ol' Victor DELIVERS a portable battery charger!
He not only wears his mask but Ken keeps a 6' social distance away,,,just in case! OH, what would we do without good friends who are on the same page of understanding and ward off COVID-19. We lived in a generation when someone said, " There's nothing to eat in the house !" Then, someone would quickly reply, "Well, there's always can tuna!" Today, these comments "hit home" for 2 reasons: 1. This can of tuna expired on March 15, 2020, JUST 3 days ago! 2. We won't just throw it out now that we are in a lock down mode and should not go out of our house. Ken raved about his creation: tuna sandwich with his homemade kim chi which he downed too quickly ... before I could take a picture!! while I enjoyed mine with kale and tomatoes from the garden! I don't think there's a chance that we will starve at the rate we are finding stuff to satisfy our boredom and urge to keep our mouths busy!! PS...STAY tune for MORE fishing tales
