Our family reunion was nice because we were able to renew our family bond and reconnect. For me, it was truly rewarding to have Char, my cousin, inform me that she works with my former student's father. After seeing my Star Advertiser article on tai chi he told my cousin that I made the difference for his son Sean whom I taught in 5th and 6th grade at Hahaione Elementary. Sean is now a pediatrician in California! ( I have been retired from the DOE since 2002.) Such a warm and fuzzy story that makes me feel good.
Alan, another cousin, gave me information from a distant cousin in Beijing who wants more information on the Lo genealogy so that she can submit a story to the Wall Street Journal. We are very excited to hear from her as we are very proud of our Lo ancestors of which we have records that go back before the first emperor of China!
Today, our family has grown so big and we are all so busy within our own immediate families that it's nice to see and feel the vibes from them all! Maybe next time we should somehow get a family picture of about 30 relatives.
