According to everydaytaichi students,
Tai Chi is...
“like cooking a pot of stew.
You must combine the proper elements and slowly build a successful product. The different ingredients you need are like the different movements, they are essential to the outcome of the taste of the stew.”
“...like water, essential to life.
It’s refreshing, it’s pure, it’s natural, it’s valuable, it’s good for your health,
just like Tai Chi is: beneficial, helpful, energizes, essential to life.”
“...such a soft and graceful dance with lot of stretching, just like Chi Chi Dango (Mochi), which is also soft and can be stretched and it’s a treat, smooth and sweet.”
...”like a bowl of jook because it’s a simple everyday meal with rice and bits of savory meats and it’s eaten to enhance inner energy and feel fulfillment.”
“..like Jai, each vegetable is like the variety of movements that have its unique beauty just like the individual tastes of the vegetables. When blended together the dish is flavorful and keeps you healthy and lean without saturated fats,
just like the continuous movements in Tai Chi that gives you peace and pleasure.
You can do Tai Chi all day long or anytime or anywhere when you feel like doing it.
Just like eating Jai, you can eat it hot or cold, with or without rice, and as soft as you like it or eat it all day long and your palate will feel satisfied with all the flavors or until you’ve reached your fullness for the day and then you begin all over again.”
“...like a large naval orange because both consist of soft circular movements that are continuous that make up a whole exercise just like an orange.
There seems to be similarities between Tai Chi and an Orange: there is enjoyment in eating each segment just like in Tai chi, every movement gives you better health, it has soft nutrients that help me become more aware of my body helping me become more graceful and soft so that I can improve my health.”
