Repulsing the Monkey
After Playing the Lute:
Open
-Position Left hand at the front center of your body
-Right hand starts go back slightly more than 90 degree
-Face and neck turn with the movement of the right hand
-Both palms open gradually turned upward simultaneously
Look
-at your back hand that is higher than your front hand
-turn your neck and head and follow your back hand as
-elevate your back hand slightly higher than your front hand
Lift
-Shift your weight all to the back leg
-To allow your front leg to lift up
Extend or stretch out your knee
-as you bring it back
-Position your toe back and out ( outside the line of the tile of the floor) so that it is not in the same plane as your front foot
Toe
-Toe Down in its own plane away from the front foot
Heel
-Heel turns inward, placed down in a 45 degree angle
Ear
-Back hand moves to ear
Face
-Follows advancing hand to mid center as it moves in a soft sprial
Pivot
-On the ball of your right or forward foot to meet at the middle
Middle, push and pull
-Hands meet to the middle as they push and pull away from each other
-Hand that advances should be at mid center of body with soft curved fingers, palms outward
-Left hand moves to the back in a cup hand/ finger form and opens at the same time the front
hand again opens
-Set at side of hip
Stretch out the front knee
Sit Back
Face center front to complete movement
To begin the repeated motion:
Shift Weight to back foot and resume
You Repulse the Monkey 4 times
(All of the above is repeated 4 times, alternating feet and hands)
