Our favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, was done in the Chun tradition of about 35 years. everydaytaichi lucy had a household full of family with grandchildren ranging from 2-17 year old!! and Tai Tai at 98 years young!! Our oldest son Stuart and wife Rita along with their 2 girls, Mia 5, and Ami 2 1/2 flew in from Irvine, CA, for our family gathering. Mia and Ami were nice playmates to cousins Andrew 4 and Sophia 1 1/2. Their parents, Les and Susan, have moved from Maui to Honolulu. everydaytaichi lucy and ken's oldest grandchildren, Justine 17 years old and brother Brennan 16 along with their mom, Caroline helped knead dough for our whole wheat rolls. Joel husked coconuts from his mother's yard and we all enjoyed coconut milk along with fresh coconut meat.
Our almost 20 pound tom turkey was roasted with the Chun family bread and herbal stuffing. Along with homemade whole wheat rosemary rolls, and an old time favorite pumpkin cheesecake, we ate and ate relaxed and enjoyed everyone's company, being silly and renewing family ties.
The slideshow below will reveal the fun we all had on this day of gratitude and appreciation.
