everydaytaichi in Xian, China
Xian, the first capital of ancient China, was unforgettable! We were met with the local greeters wearing their colorful outfits and festive atmosphere. We were ushered in and given a Gold Key to help open the city gate to enter this special place. We were in awe of the native music and exciting entertainment of jugglers balancing huge ceramic vases, dancers and acrobats.
We viewed Xian by climbing up some steps to the ancient city wall, one of the few walls remaining in China. Here we had a panoramic view, and of course did some Tai Chi here too!!
It was very cold with overcast skies and we all took out our masks as the pollution levels seemed very high.
Xian was the highlight of our trip - seeing the Terra Cotta Soldiers and the many excavations of these spectacular projects that really give one goosebumps to think that all this work was done in a civilization. The famous farmer who discovered these artifacts in the fields was there at the bookstore signing his book too! There was one showcase of a warrior who looked as if he was doing a Tai Chi stance, Brush Knee. We tried to mimic his move along the side of the showcase!!
We enjoyed our Dumpling dinner that evening and had many nice memories relaxing and laughing with our friends.
