Ken and Andrew crafted a homemade canoe from a piece of driftwood as a fourth grade social studies project.
With an outrigger and a leash, Andrew and all of Iolani's 4th graders will test their canoe in the Olympic size pool.
Hoping they are all very proud of this amazing feat... a once in a lifetime project!
Stepped out of the box and experimented.
Tasty alternative to a Hawaiian tradition of wrapping ti leaves and steaming a bundle or pocket of yummies.
Lucy's Lau Lau was filled with
Colorful purple and yellow sweet potato and garden fresh organic spinach
flavored wtih dashi, coconut milk, garlic and salt...
A few dried scallops hit the spot!
Now I have a dish I can make when there is an over abundance of spinach which nicely substitutes for luau leaves!
