...my mother's gas range that still stands in our family home in Kuliouou is nearing 75 years old!
Not like other ranges, this oldie yet trusty appliance still works...well, a couple of the burner units need to be cleaned! It will be refurbished in a home where the interested person loves fixing up and accenting her decor with a vintage touch. This Universal brand range is no longer manufactured. We recall the many tasty foods mom cooked for us from our favorite lunch after swimming lesson was hot dog and chicken noodle soup and ice cream for dessert. Her cake noodle, chicken rice and soups of all kinds including jook were cooked just right on this "old fashion" range of yester years! Can you imagine? ONE range served her for her entire life...that's more than what appliances during our time can provide us these days. Multi grain toast with chimichurri sauce top left and cilantro pesto on bottom right with long rice seaweed soup with daikon leaves and root vegetables.
