What I ate:  Baked yam with mint, drizzled with coconut milk.  with roasted potatoes on the side  Garden fresh green beans pan fried with shoyu garlic oil, mushrooms and sweet corn.  Getting back to the basics: green tossed salad with a nice healthy dressing and organic baby veggies11/25/2017  Salad greens include, Romaine lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, avocado, yam, purple and russet potato with garden fresh organic baby arugula, young baby kale, dill, mint, cilantro and butter leaf lettuce. Drizzled with shoyu garlic dill vinegar oil dressing.
 Walking in the rain and cold may have it's drawbacks, yet it can also bring uplifting opportunities to enjoy what a day brings.   Hoping that our home will continue to be filled with all the richness, excitement, and freshness this rainbow displays!   Since we had already had a big Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday, today we balanced off our meal with a brunch of potstickers, seasonal fruit and boiled peanuts. Each of us had our own personal size pan of yummy homemade potstickers. PS: We were too busy eating and really didn't think about taking more pictures before the food was down into our tummies!   Fresh made cranberry sauce made first time by Andrew, 7YO. He squeezed home grown tangerines for a special flavor.  A 16 pound turkey from Foodland's Maka'i certificate is always a winner!!  Baby Colin was very social and loved being held by Aunty Diane.  Our dressing is always a traditional Chun recipe originally made by Ken's dad.  Turkey is our main entree and we try to keep it as traditional as possible. Brunch was at 1030 so the turkey was put in the oven at 630AM before lucy's morning walk.  Our colorful buffet ...oops we forgot to take the sweet potatoes out from the oven!   Brennan loves babies and does a great job with his newest cousin.  I'm sure you figured out whose plate this is for?  Baby wants his Thanksgiving treat, too...first things first! Our Thanksgiving on Guam, 1977, some 40 years ago! We even made our own hot cross buns!  Below is an old photo of the Lo family when Uncle Shangie and Uncle Richard were leaving for graduate school and when lucy was about 5 years old. Thanksgiving is a time for family and feasting on all our yummy homemade goodies. What we do in preparation is always fun...lots of work but well worth all our efforts in keeping it a big family affair. |
