1. You co-ordinate your body movements 2. You use your whole body, including your neck, face, eyes, mind, your core as well as your extremities. By implementing the following strategies: -synchronize your movements -open your knees, rotate your hips and waist -shift your weight -keep your tai chi posture and focus on your dan tian 3. Breathe naturally but use your diaphragm 4. Relax and focus and be consciously aware As a result, your movements will be smoother, softer and done at a uniform and slow pace. In spite of it being a holiday and other things and activities on our mind, we had a nice group who came out as their regular routine and practiced tai chi. After warm up exercises, tai chi walk, and 5 sets to music we were ready to tackle our day and make it fun and productive. Ken once contemplated a career in horticulture and becoming a botanist, but he was strongly influenced to go into medicine by his long time friend. He and Mike were roommates in medical school. One of his hobbies that he feels fulfilled is gardening of vegetables, fruit trees, orchids and keeping our yard well kept. Ken also has an herb garden of which we put to good use almost daily in our cooking and baking.
