Click on the play arrow, and cheer for #3, wearing purple shoes, and lavender shorts, and light green jersey. GO, Sophia!! Hello Ms. Lucille Chun, I do not know if my word will make it to you, but if it does, I just want to say thank you. Everyday for 5 months already, I do Tai Chi with you in my living room watching you on youtube. I love that. I plan to go to classes soon. I must tell you that I do not speak an English word, I live in Quebec in Canada and I speak only French, but I can follow you and understand you just by looking at you. Your movements are clear and well demonstrated. I learn every day and I do not get tired of watching your videos. Thanks to your husband also for taking the time to share, it's a big job to be behind the camera. He looks so nice just like you. Tai Chi has become a passion for me, not a day goes by without sharing a Tai Chi session, with the one I affectionately call my '' friend Lucille ''. In my family everyone has heard of you, I only speak Tai Chi. I dream of attending one of your classes one day. It is a dream that I cherish in my heart and that motivates me to continue learning. Hawaii is not bad, but it is always possible to dream while waiting. Know that there is someone here in Canada who you do good every day and for that I am very grateful. Looking forward to having the chance one day to meet you. * Sorry for English, I translated my message from French to English with a translator. Lucy's commen: I am very, very grateful to people who express such warmth and appreciation for what we do in trying to reach out to as many people as we can so that they, too, can learn tai chi and better their health. I will dream, also, to be able to meet some day to do tai chi together.
This email is exactly what "Tai Chi Aloha Around the World" means ... my mission is to spread tai chi like aloha around the world. Kahala Mall and Kilauea park are my 2nd and 3rd home! I was lucky to get a charging station for my EV at 6:45AM at Kahala Mall. Took my 4 laps and our daughter, Caroline, walked with me, too. Met with other friends and students before our 8 o'clock Luk Tung Kuen exercise. LTK is always fun and stimulating among many long time friends of various background. Took down our audio equipment, then headed off to Kilauea park for setting up our Olelo brand new Sony video cameras for shooting our non-instructional tai chi session. It was our rehearsal for our big event, World Tai Chi Day, our 5th annual at Kahala Mall on April 28, 9:30 AM at center stage area. Rushed home to put camera equipment away and get ready for baby to be dropped off for the afternoon. He's not quite old enough to enjoy the Iolani fair with his older sibs . Now that baby is taking a nap, I have time to take pictures of the new produce we have in our home today. White albino bitter melon home grown by our tai chi students that will be our dinner soon! and fresh guavas to be enjoyed by us, especially, Andrew and Les, this weekend or made into kale, mango, banana, orange, lemon, soy milk, mint smoothies soon. Last but not least I will find time to edit our tai chi footage that Ken and Victor filmed for us in preparation for World Tai Chi Day. Baby fell asleep holding onto his favorite toys while Gungie strolled him...but it's more fun when Grampa keeps baby company!! and our finale, brown rice pan fried with yellow sweet potato, corn, turmeric, ginger garlic, green beans, Chinese peas and our special treat, white bitter melon. Tiring but fun day for ALL, young and old! Construction is really going full blast right below our home. The angle is taken from our dining room. We have been fortunate to have had an unobstructed view for 40 years...and we'll still have a nice view, in spite of the 2 story home coming up. Now we have ring side seats to observe how a home is built, lots of action, lots of excitement in the privacy of our own home! The combination of ingredients flavored with the right seasoning in essentially two different dishes were then blended to make one big entree.
The sticky rice dish was steamed with peanuts, black eye peas and red dates. It was seasoned with heong liu fun, or Chinese 5 spice, and vegetarian oyster sauce and finely chopped fresh ginger. The taro mix was seasoned with fermented tofu, bean paste, vegetarian oyster sauce, sesame oil and seeds, and fresh turmeric. Garden fresh Chinese sweet peas and green beans were pan fried lightly for texture and crunch. Together, garnish with shiso, Okinawa spinach, green onions and chives. |
